What do I put for the sample messages in my SMS (10DLC) plan?

The system pre-fills default sample messages for the use cases you selected, using the website URL and brand name from the previous page. With five use cases selected you get samples that look like an account notification, a marketing message, a customer care message and so on. These show the phone companies what you plan to send.

  1. Go through each sample and verify it is accurate, or customize it so it is a message you would really send.
  2. Include an example link of the type you will send, using your own website. Carriers filter messages: if you are approved for one domain and then send links to a different domain, your messages may not be delivered, so a sample link tells them to expect your domain.
  3. Include your phone number in the sample, so texts containing it have a better chance of being delivered and not filtered.
  4. Give the plan a name and continue to the next step, which covers user consent.
